How I can help

Two areas I care about most

Whether you are struggling yourself or worried about your child, you can start by just talking it through.

Mental health

  • Feeling low, empty or tired all the time
  • Worry, anxiety and panic
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Stress from work, study or family
  • Coping with big changes or loss

Children's health

  • Common childhood illnesses and what to do next
  • Feeding, growth and development questions
  • Sleep, behaviour and school worries
  • A calm second opinion when you are unsure
  • Guidance for parents living far from family

General health questions

Not sure which box your problem fits in? Book anyway. As a general doctor I can listen, help you understand what is going on, and tell you if you need to be seen in person.

A video call has limits. I can't examine you or your child physically. If I think you need tests, an exam or urgent care, I will tell you honestly and point you to the right place.

About me

Hello, I'm Dr. Ashara

I studied medicine at Kursk State Medical University in Russia and I'm registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council. I did my internship at Hambantota, where I worked in women's health and in children's health.

After that I worked in mental health at Base Hospital Siyambalanduwa and trained at the National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa. Today I work as a medical officer at Hambantota General Hospital.

I speak Sinhala and English. My aim is simple. You should feel heard first. Then we can work out the next step together, at your pace.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is my call private?

Yes. It is only you and me on the call, and what you tell me stays between us. Please pick a quiet spot where you feel comfortable talking.

Do I need to install anything?

No special app. I will send you a WhatsApp video call or a Zoom link, whichever you prefer. Both work on a phone or a laptop.

Can we talk in Sinhala?

Yes. I speak Sinhala and English, so use whichever feels easier. This website is in English only for now.

How much does it cost, and how do I pay?

I share the fee and the payment details when you book. Once payment is done, I send the link for your call.

Can you prescribe medicine online?

That depends on your situation, and I will be honest with you about what can and can't be done over video. Some problems need a proper examination or tests in person.

I'm living abroad. Can I still book?

Yes, that's what the time zone box is for. Pick your country's time zone and the calendar shows times in your own clock.

Can I cancel or change my time?

Yes, just message me on WhatsApp or email as early as you can, and we will find another time.
